I was watching the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (don’t judge!) and they were in Paris. I was reminded of the gorgeous cafe scenes in that city and everyone sitting outside in bistro chairs sipping cafe au lait…otherwise known as my heaven.
Anyway, back to reality…why not bring that scene to your own kitchen? You know one of our favorite tips is to look to the outdoors for easy family living indoors. Because outdoor products are constructed to withstand the elements, they hold up so well for kids, pets, etc.
Another tip is to look for seating at affordable online wholesalers and sites that cater more to a commercial audience (like restaurants and bars) than direct to consumer. You’ll often pay a little more in shipping, but the prices will be worth it for savings overall. I did that for my kitchen barstools. These are woven nylon so are suitable for outdoor use as well as indoor. They’re also available in a stool.
Higher end, there’s TK Collections— a trade-only (order through a designer) source that supplies some of the country’s top french bistros. They offer chairs, stools and tables constructed of rattan and rilsan in many colors. LOVE this blue one…
And don’t you just love this bench–would be perfect in a breakfast nook!

It’s a great look, super practical and you also get your little slice of Paris. Oh bistro chair, take me away…
