The Dummies Guide to a Frozen Birthday Party

Happy Memorial Day. It’s a special day for what it stands for, but today is also special for a very different reason. Today is my daughter’s 4th birthday and what do you think she wanted? Yup, a bday party inspired by Frozen…is there any other 4 year old birthday party these days?! As you guys know, I’m not much of a DIYer, but I did manage to hit it out of the park with her princess birthday party cake last year. So I trolled Pinterest for some ideas and my god people go all out for kids’ parties! Are you kidding me…

My mismatched folding chairs for seven little girls will not be getting slipcovered in blue fabric by tomorrow. Nor will I be creating a themed dessert table to rival a celebrity wedding…

I can’t even…

So, for those of us who don’t have the time (or admittedly desire!) to customize everything and spend a tone of money, but do want to pull together a decent party to make your little girl happy, here are some realistic ideas.

Olaf is a big hit in our house and I love  this idea as an activity and dessert in one!

We used large and small marshmallows, pretzel sticks, baby carrots and chocolate chips for our Olafs. We used Twizzlers as a scarf. The girls loved it and it killed at least 20 minutes!

Or let Olaf inspire your snack table

Really you can do anything light blue and it’ll tie in with the theme…

Individual cups of blue jello with whipped cream snow = easy and delicious (my favorite combo)

Of course ice cubes are perfect–use something like Hawaiian punch then mix it with sprite (oh let the sugar-induced singing begin!)

Here’s a great idea for a centerpiece–I think the characters are just sitting in sugar. Unfortunately you can’t find any of the character pieces anywhere!

And, if you can’t take another “let it go” sing-a-long then take a break a play a little pin-the-nose-on-Olaf

Or, go for a piñata like we did. I found this one at Party City.

Hope you all are having as good a day as I’ve had.
