Home Depot Lighting

While I definitely like Home Depot for my basic house needs I don’t consider them a great resource for products with good design–that is until now!  While searching online for some lighting, I found their ZUO line with has great design with a small price tag.

1. ZUO Amethyst
//2. ZUO Bronze //3.ZUO Sapphire//4.ZUO Cassius//5.Alpha Floor Lamp//6.ZUO Bradyon//7.ZUO Cascade

1.  Perfect light fixture for an entryway!  The bronze finish keeps it from looking too modern so that would blend in with traditional decor as well.

2.  I’ve been trying to figure out where I could incorporate this pendant light into my home–LOVE it!  I think it would be great in a kids bathroom and I could even see two of these over a rustic wood dining room table.

3.  This pendant has been one of my favorites for a long time.  It comes in two sizes and a nickel finish.  Would love to see the nickel finish in my office area and I think Tessa should put the bronze finish in her entryway. Now we just have to convince our husbands to let us change our light fixtures AGAIN.

4.  This one is a steal at 50.00!  Could look great in a girl’s nursery or bathroom or even over a huge soaking bathtub!

5.  While this is not a pendant light, I couldn’t help but include such a nice looking floor lamp.

6.  This is by far my favorite find at Home Depot.  Large enough in scale to be placed over a dining room table in a more formal setting or  I would love to see it over a rustic wood table.

7.  Everyone needs a little bling in their house!

I will definitely consider Home Depot one of my go-to stores from now on.  Happy Shopping!

Serena & Lily Does It Again – Wallpaper Crush

You know one of our absolute favorite resources is Serena & Lily. The other day, I was browsing their catalog and was happy to see that they’re now offering their beautiful fabric designs in wallpaper!  Earlier this week, we showed you how to go bold in a kids room with painting stripes and adding a bold, graphic wallpaper like one of these  is another great way to add a wow factor to a room.

Here are some of my favorites:

So great in navy in a little boy’s room–or less predictable paired with fuchsia in a teenage girl’s room!

I so want this for my master bathroom!  Love!!

As a side note, how fabulous are those sconces?!?

I would love to see this lining the backs of a bookcase.

photo 3

Adorable for a girls room! Don’t want to go all out and do the walls, wallpaper an IKEA dresser for an affordable, but really fun statement

Not sure what would be more work, hanging striped wallpaper or painting stripes!

Be sure to check back tomorrow.  We have a great post tomorrow with some fun styling for one lucky reader!

New Source for Inspiration: Est Magazine

The Queen’s obviously doing something right because so many of my favorite sources for design inspiration are coming out of those damn commonwealth countries! Canada and Australia are producing some fabulous print and online mags right now. Head Down Under and you’ll find one of my favorites: Adore Home and now I’ve just discovered Est Magazine.

Launched in 2011, Est searches the world for fashion and interior design inspiration. The beauty of this e-mag is its simplified layout and well-edited content. The photography is gorgeous and the typography is so well chosen. There’s definitely a mid century/scandi feel to the mag so might be a little too, well, uncluttered for some of you (hey, I lean pretty busy and eclectic myself!) but definitely worth checking out for beautiful, simple, yet interesting interiors!
