It’s August and a lot of our friends are going camping. In all honesty, I’m not a big camper–love the idea of it, the feelings of nostalgia it brings up, but then in practice I’m not a big fan. Too hot, too cold, too wet, too buggy. We just spent a couple of nights up at the Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin which was a great little getaway with the kids to swim, eat ice cream and run screaming down hotel hallways.
I’m sure the kids would love to camp and yes, one day soon I’ll suck it up and do it, but I admit it, I’m a wuss and I like a nice hotel. Then I read about a California company called Shelter Co.and my opinion on camping may have changed. Taking a cue from luxury safaris and outfitters like Abercrombie & Kent, Shelter Co. brings mobile luxury camping to the US. They do lodging and event planning for weddings, company meetings, even a super fancy backyard campout!

(With this bar, I could probably get through even the worst camping experience though…)
Amazing right?! Let me know if any of you are interested in going in on this kind of camping trip! Check out more pics from Shelter Co.’s “campgrounds” and events here.
