About a month ago, Tessa and I were contacted by Kidecals to try out and review their product. I was excited to find out about this company because I’m always game for anything that involves labeling! We were told that these name labels stick to any surface, including clothes, and are waterproof, dishwasher and washing machine safe. But, we were also clear with them that we’d only write something if we actually liked the product so I decided to put their labels to the test.
I knew if the labels passed the hockey gear test then they would be able to stand up to the harshest of conditions! For all of you hockey moms out there you know what I’m talking about. But, for the rest of you, let me fill you in on a “dirty” little secret…Hockey gear is constantly wet or damp not to mention so smelly! I swear mold is growing on it at all times. Hockey gear is also very expensive and it would give me panic attacks if my child lost an item — especially those skates.
So, to put the labels to their true test, I decided to label two of the worst offenders that are usually wet the entire time my son is on the ice. These gloves are so stinky and sweaty on the inside that I didn’t think the sticker would really last. You can see that I put it on the inside of his glove. He’s worn these several times now and this sticker has not moved!
If a name label doesn’t come off the bottom of an ice skate, I don’t think anything can take it off.
I chose labels that came in large and small rectangles. I also included our phone number just to ensure our chances of recovering a lost item.
