In yesterday’s post I blogged about my love for the Expedit System. But, I have to admit my first love is reserved for bins! Most girls collect handbags or shoes, but not me, I collect storage bins. I can’t get enough of them and I love all shapes and sizes! You don’t have to shop at Ikea to find ones to fit the openings in your Expedit, the openings are 12 x 12 so there are many possibilities. Not only are the storage bins super practical, but they’re also a great way to add color and texture and a great contrast to the lacquered finish of the shelves.
The Itso collection at Target is great! It comes in many different colors as well as heights. The tall bins fit the entire cubby in the Expedit and are perfect if you want to maximize storage and conceal everything.
Within the same collection are the shorter bins. I like these for my kids because they can access toys easily and clean up is a breeze just sorting the toys without pulling out each bin. These are the ones you saw on my shelves yesterday. Isn’t this a fun pattern? So cute for a kids room!
Land of Nod has a ton of options too–I like these woven baskets made out of plastic. They are so durable and come in fun colors.
With a name like “I Think I Can” how can you go wrong? These bend, twist and stand the test of time. You saw these on Tessa’s shelving in yesterday’s post.
If you do want to go the Ikea route there are so many choices. Here are few that I have used and can vouch for.
These fold flat for storage when not in use.
I love these for an office space or even as a kid’s keepsake box. Perfect for all those momentos that you ‘might’ someday put into a scrapbook.
Happy storage!
I like the products from Ikea. Those storage bins would look good in my living room. I’m thinking of storing my books, magazines and board games in them.
