Just a Few Dining Room Lights I’m Coveting

Hope you all had a great weekend. Last night I had my first night alone with all three kids–husband is on the road this week–and it went surprisingly smoothly (read only two meltdowns–neither was me so that’s positive.) Anyway…Was searching online for a little inspiration for a dining room project and came across this photo from S-B Long Interiors

What inspired me was the lighting. In my own home I’ve tended to make safer decision–like I’m kind of a drum shade kind of girl. I love a good drum shade (my is double barrel drum so that’s a little adventurous I guess…ok, it isn’t, but I still love it) but I sometimes wish I could be more gutsy and go for a light like this one or something equally unexpected.

Here are some of the lights that I’ve had my eye on:

I’ve always liked this Oly Studio Serena Drum chandelier–drum shade, but super blingy.

It was used in a beautiful Nova Scotian beach home we featured last summer. It’s beautiful when light goes through it.

Taking a tiny step beyond the simple drum shade is this one I spotted at Jonathan Adler last weekend–the metal detail just adds so much interest to a traditional shade

Here’s another one I spied at Jonathan Adler

This starburst chandelier is nothing less than fabulous. It would also look amazing in a large entry.

Here’s another shot from S-B Long Interiors–love how Long mixes modern and rustic and takes chances with lighting!

These is a really affordable option from West Elm that certainly isn’t the same as the shot above, but has similarities in the finish and glass

This is the one I really want though–gorgeous and would be perfect in my dining room!

Those are just a few of the many I’ve been saving for the day I decide to take the plunge on a new light.
