I just finished watching Sunday night’s intense episode of The Good Wife. Such a good show….and I can’t believe this direction they took! If you don’t watch the show, I highly recommend getting on the bandwagon (even if you are four years behind) and catching up on Netflix. So so good. Plus, if you do watch, you’ve probably noticed they have amazing sets. Over the last few years of the show, there’s been a lot of talk about Beth Kushnick who is the set decorator and a genius at what she does. (Btw, you can follow Kushnick on twitter @GoodWifeSetDec) What’s so great is that everything is a mix of moderately-priced pieces from places like Crate & Barrel and cool accessories from specialty stores (in NY because unfortunately the show isn’t really filmed in Chicago and honestly, it doesn’t really even do a great job of pretending it is minus a few token street shots that do their best not to look like NYC and basically fail miserably…but I digress…)
Alicia’s apartment is the perfect reflection of her: kind of uptight, but somehow also warm and likable character.
I always wait for someone to come to her door, because I need a glimpse of this entry–the trim, the sconces…
I’m sure many of you are like me in that when you’re watching a movie or TV, you can’t help but wish you could find that lamp on the lead actor’s bedside table or the chair in the CEO’s office. A couple of years ago, The Good Wife joined forces with one of our favorite furnisher designers, Mitchell Gold Bob Williams for a line inspired by the show–the first of its kind. The line is simple and classic in its styling. Every piece would be flexible with different types of decor. Amy and I have suggested a few of the pieces from the collection to clients for recent projects including this chair as seen in Diane’s office. We recommended it to be paired with a square-armed sofa in a room where you’d be walking in to a room and seeing the chair from the back.
We also love this rounded back chair
This chair is a go-to for us–looks perfect in a corner.
And this sofa from Alicia’s living room is on my wish list…
You can see the whole collection here.
Love this post! I strangely love the yellow paint behind the white bookshelves
