A Little Announcement…

The cat’s out of the bag that I’m expecting #3 in late February 2013! We’re obviously thrilled, but also nervous (ok, petrified!) since we have two little ones who have, let’s just say, strong personalities. For the third time, we’ll be keeping the sex a surprise–as an adult there are so few surprises left so it’s something we’ve loved in the past and want to do again.

Now, down to business…new baby means three new design projects (cue husband’s groan…): big girl room for Madeleine, nursery set up where my office is now, office moved upstairs to a smaller (currently unused) room. So, my dear organized Amy has started “encouraging” me to start one project at a time and number one is getting my two year old out of the crib into a big girl room so I can at the very least have a crib for the baby. Let’s just say, in my own home, I’m notorious for never completing projects on time!

During the Serena & Lily sale a few weeks ago, I did buy this bedding (duvet and sham, not the sheets although I love those too)–Madeleine’s favorite color is pink so I just went with it.

I almost bought this Ramona bedding (which I actually like more) but then decided to go with the simpler look because I think I’m going to keep the roman shade I currently have on the window

So, right now I’m searching for inspiration for my little big girl’s room. I’m definitely going to hold on to the Ramona bedding pic from Serena & Lily though because I think I want one of those white ceramic stools as a side table. Here are some other images I’ve filed away…

LOVE  the turquoise seagrass wallpaper in this room by LA Designer Pacific Family Home–and what about that custom bed covered in a Quadrille fabric and that light?!

This is one of my all time favorite rooms for a girl (or two girls more likely!) by SF designer Tineke Triggs of Artistic Designs for Living-adore that painted ceiling and the sconces! It’s both bold and simple at the same time.
In this room by JAC Interiors, the butterfly wallpaper is darling and the upholstered headboard would work well with a simple trundle bed
Definitely want to do a fun desk with an acrylic chair of some sort–this gorgeous Barbara Barry number custom painted by Toronto designer Shirley Meisels is out of budget, but I think I could find something similar and give it a bold spray paint.
SO much to do before a newborn is back in the picture! Luckily I can just borrow all of Amy’s super organized to do lists and follow in her well-traveled footsteps… 😉

  1. So excited for you (about the baby, of course, but also that you get to design/redesign 3 rooms)!! I’m sure all will turn out beautifully. So happy for you — can’t wait to meet the newest addition and to see the new spaces!!
