Nate Berkus’s Chicago Home

To end our week of Nate Berkus, we decided to go back and take a look at his Chicago home in the beautiful Gold Coast neighborhood.  It went on the market last year and still hasn’t sold even after dropping the price to just under two million.  Hmmm…wonder if furnishings are included, probably not!

Nate’s home is filled with lots of personal items giving his home an eclectic look. The busy pattern on the rug works in this room because all of the furniture is neutral and the pop of blue curtains is perfection!

For a guest room I love the idea of a desk at the foot of the bed.  Or, even for a kids room.  I’m also a HUGE fan of putting a bed in front of a window–it creates such a pretty backdrop.

I love the shelving around the t.v.  This would be a great option for anyone wanting to take away the focus of a big tv in a room.

A dresser used as an entryway table is perfect for storing all of those hats, gloves and mittens you need for a Chicago winter.

The bedding and headboard is beautiful to me!  There is nothing better than crisp, white sheets against a dark headboard.

Check out your views during a dinner party!

Seriously–look at this closet!  Think of the organization I could do inside his drawers.

Don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a signed copy of Nate’s newest book, “What Matters Most”.  Just leave a comment on this post for a chance to win.  Winner will be announced on Monday so be sure to check back.

  1. I adore those sconces in the entry… They look so masculine and cool. I always love his lighting choices — they are always interesting. Nate is perfection — love him!

  2. Loving Two Inspire Design posts! The bookshelf/tv design is a great idea for small spaces – and I love the desk at the foot of the bed idea, especially when the desk will then also face a window or interesting art work above a bed.
