Color of the Year

I couldn’t have been more excited when I found out the color of the year for 2013 is Emerald Green.  But what’s even more impressive is there is an actual institute responsible for analzying and picking the color of the year.  Who knew?  This is exactly what “Pantone Color Institute” does every year.  Apparently, they look at world influences ranging from the entertainment industry, films, and popular travel destinations to help determine the color of the year.

When green is paired with gold and black it looks so polished.

And if green is too bold for the decorating taste in your home, than try incorporate it into small wardrobe accessories.  I’m loving this hat and it would look great with my new wool coat Tessa helped me pick out.

  1. As a (former?) graphic designer I’ve always loved the Pantone color of the year announcements – and if I recall correctly they give trend updates throughout the year as well. So fun. Love Pantone.
