Top Down/Bottom Up Shades-The Perfect Bathroom Solution

So, yesterday I went on my little rant about those cafe curtains in an (almost) perfect bathroom. So, rather than just complaining, I thought I’d give you all an alternative–in my humble opinion what I would have chosen.

My favorite window covering option in a bathroom is an up/down roman shade. I love the flexibility of them in every room, but particularly for bathrooms, when the top down feature allows you to bring in light and keep your view, but have much needed privacy.

Smith & Nobel offers a roller roman shade–they’re perfect for a bathroom because they are top down/bottom up and handle moisture really well. In fact this is the option I chose for my own master bathroom.

Top down/bottom up shades look great in a printed fabric as well–and they’re certainly not limited to the bathroom. Perfect solution for a too-close neighbor, an ugly fence, or a busy road.

To each their own and I’m thinking the designer likely wanted something soft and airy and perhaps a roman shade was too structured, but just saying what I would have put in that gorgeous bathroom!
