An Almost Perfect Room

Tessa showed you that gorgeous bathroom last week and this week I came across another almost perfect room:

I’m loving the three design elements that bring this room together: the rose colored pendant, patterned backsplash and the wood legs on the Eames chairs bring warmth into the room.  The dark grey cabinets on the bottom don’t feel heavy because a white table and chairs keep things looking light.

But then the  hide rug is brought in and now the room just seems kind of impractical. And yes, I know hide rugs are very durable and you can wipe them clean, but what I don’t like is, when paired under a table, it makes it hard to move your chair in and out and my biggest pet peeve is when corners on rugs curl up, get caught, etc.

I’m all about beautiful spaces but they have to be practical and also kid-friendly (since there’s a high chair in this shot, I assume this is supposed to be for a family!)  As much as they say hide rugs will come clean, I can’t imgine it will stand the test of time with a baby/toddler. Thoughts??
