Hanging Vertical

I have always loved seeing several pieces of art hung vertical on walls vs. every wall in your house having one frame or two frames hung horizontal.  The beauty to hanging art vertically is that it works in rooms with low ceilings and rooms with high ceilings.  Either way it draws your eye up and gives the illusion of even higher ceilings.

Here are some great examples:

The gold frames look awkwardly placed but I’m loving the four silver square frames on that narrow wall.

These frames make a statement in an entryway when hung vertically.

I think most people would leave this space blank but I love how these three frames give this space interest.

Simplifying Fabulous

Another way to hang frames is to leave no space between for a cohesive look.

I love how the four vertical frames spread to the top and the bottom.  It really updates the space and gives it a more modern look in an otherwise traditional room.

I tried to mimic some of the inspiration photos above in my dining room but I think I need one more frame to complete my look.

Hallways and narrow walls are great places to try this look in your home.   I am hoping to try this with kids artwork upstairs on a narrow wall between the kid’s bedrooms.  I’ll let you know how it goes.
