So far, it’s been a pretty dreary spring. The pool is supposed to open this weekend, but I’m seriously doubting that the weather will be good enough–argh! I’m dying to get a little sun on my skin (with SPF 50 of course!) and a little color in my life. I’m craving color and came across some easy and affordable ideas for injecting it into your home…
Switch up your head chairs with a colorful metal one–these are available
These are available really affordably at overstock.com–check these ones out for $150 for a seat of two…perfect!
Or, go all out and switch out those heavy upholstered chairs for a summer of bright chairs like these ones from IKEA–at $20 a piece, you can afford to!
Speaking of turquoise chairs, love this idea as a cheap way to add color to your home–hit up the thrift store for a bunch of cheap chairs and paint them all the same fun color
A simple white kitchen gets a splash of color with these different colored stools. Want to try this? Head to your local thrift store and find some old matching stools and get out that spray can–super easy weekend project. Those stools Amy and I found in Michigan last weekend would be perfect for this!
Easiest idea of all? Switch out your bathroom towels for loads of fun colorful ones!
Or take a few panels of your favorite colorful fabrics do your local dry cleaner and have them create a custom color block shower curtain with the summer’s hottest hues
Bring color into your bedroom with a painted mirror–this one by blogger Emily Clark for her daughter’s room was found at a hotel surplus store and painted pink (Madeleine would love this one!)
An ornate mirror looks fresh and modern with a coat of turquoise paint–perfect way to add color to an entry
One of my favorite ways to bring color into my house during the summer, is to switch up the rugs. Dash & Albert is a fave in high traffic areas for their bright colors and durability
Loving these new two-tone indoor/outdoor rugs from Dash & Albert–might have to order one for my front door
Here’s hoping we get a little sun soon–my mood could use a little color!
