We’re settling into a new fall routine and I’m starting to put my house back together after the summer craziness. One of our favorite summer games was drawing hopscotch on the driveway with chalk. These past few days have been too hot for me to sit outside and draw hopscotch…I’m so over the warm weather and anyone who knows me, knows that I love wearing jeans and a pullover and not shorts and a tshirt come September! So when Maggie was begging me to go outside to play hopscotch, I thought of a better idea…
This might not win any awards for beautiful design but it did the trick and she practiced writing her numbers because she wanted the squares to be numbered. I definitely won a “good” mom award this day. After looking at it for the past two days, I couldn’t help but think how cute it would be to have something more permanent like this in our house. So after a few searches, here’s what I came up with:
Sticker decals! So many different designs.
Love this design and could easily see this in a kid’s entryway of their room.
CB2 even sells a hopscotch rug. It looks to be too wide for my upstairs hallway but how cute in a mudroom?
This photo gave me the idea of using flor tiles to create hopscotch in my upstairs hallway.
Oh, and in case you are wondering what’s all over my dining room photo in the first picture….
What can I say? Maggie got her hopscotch and Charlie got a lego table. It’s peace and harmony in our house these days!
Enjoy the weekend!
That is our dining room table more often than not!
Jessica-glad to hear it’s not just in my house. Enjoy the weekend!
Great idea! Happy weekend!
