IKEA Updates

Continuing on our cheap, but chic, shopping week, I’m following up to Amy’s Target post with some favorite items we spotted at IKEA this past weekend. I remember Saturday nights when I’d spend an hour (ok, maybe more) getting ready to go out and wait an hour (and yes, ok, maybe more for the right place…) in line somewhere cool. Now, the perfect Saturday night is Amy picking me up at 6 and heading to IKEA in our pj bottoms (and no, I’m not kidding.)

This is labeled as a vanity, but it would make a perfect desk or even an entry console thanks to the drawer and glass top

IKEA 11

A perfect little cart with a thousand uses and the colors are great.

One of Amy’s favorite tips for organization in the bathroom is use hooks instead of towel bars (you can get three towels in place of one!) so we were excited to see most of the IKEA towels have little tabs on them perfect for hanging on hooks!

The lighting section has had some great additions. I picked up a couple of these to try out in my son’s room behind his bed

LOVE this sconce. The white, brass and black and white exposed cord.

It also comes in a floor lamp

IKEA can always be counted on for some good ceiling lights…this one is so pretty in person.

IKEA 4

I’m a sucker for a good basket…

IKEA 3

A couple of good looking rugs–perfect for a living room or a bedroom

But, oh, IKEA you honestly lost me on this one…

The only crappy part of our venture to IKEA was that by the time we left at 9pm they’d run out of cinnamon roles!  WTH???  How are we supposed to make it home without our cinnamon roles??

  1. I picked up the ikea acrylic light up there for the master bedroom (removed the ceiling fan) and I absolutely love it. I know it’s taking forever but I promise that once I get this room closer to done I will share the “after” with you. Bedding. Part of window treatments. Lighting. Paint and a seating selection complete. Rugs, accent table. Desk. Desk chair and decor still needed. SLOWLY getting there. But I am going to go check out that black and white rug for a potential front room rug! Thanks!!
