When it comes to things for my house I having a running list of things that 1) I like, 2) I want (now!) and 3) I need (often the most boring list). Luckily this week, my list is a short and cheap one so I decided to just get all three things on the list…
I like…..this new under shelf storage basket I purchased a few days ago. I love opening my pantry and seeing it hang in its glory. Although it’s made to hold dishes or cups I had another idea in mind.
It’s the perfect size (it comes in three different widths) to hold bread. Our bread used to be thrown in a big basket and half the time I would forget it was in the basket because things would be thrown on top. I decided that bread was worthy of its own spot in my pantry (I’m a carb lover!). No more digging through a dark basket to find the bread and I’m now using a spot that was always an empty, wasted space.
I want…this adorable sconce from Ikea. It’s popping up everywhere these days and I just made the forty minute drive to Ikea to pick one up. I don’t even know where I would put it, but it is such a great design and at a great price that it’ll work for any room in the house.
I need….these adorable sheets for my daughter’s room. At only 17.99, I won’t mind when my daughter smears makeup or markers all over them (because let’s face it it’s inevitable) and they get ruined. I’ve bought Target’s Circo sheets in the past for my kids and they always hold up well and get softer with each wash. I’m also impressed with the patterns and colors Circo sheets have to offer.
I’ve found keeping this kind of list helps prioritize what I’m buying for the house. Sometimes I have bigger items on the list and then I can carry the list around with me and reference it when I see something on sale…not on the list = not a priority and don’t spend the money on it!
Do you have any items under $20 that make you happy? Please share!
thanks for the kid’s sheet inspiration! I had been thinking I needed to get some fresh ones, and this post helped me finally do it! got paige the pink zig zags (so cute) and a coordinating horse-print set (of course), and got grant some nice new solid navy sheets, all from target. perfect!
yes, I love the horse-print set, too! I debated getting that set for my daughter’s trundle bed.
I have that sconce and love it! It is the perfect IKEA item.
