Girl vs. Boy

A couple of years ago, I posted this picture of one of my favorite girls rooms by SF-based design firm Artistic Designs for Living. It’s still one of my favorite kid’s rooms.

 I love how the same designer translated the look into a room for two lucky boys…

While certainly not exactly the same, you can see how one inspired the other and lots of the key pieces are replicated–the overall layout of the room with a bookcase creating privacy, storage beds, library light for each child, pendant light in the center of the room and each has a streamlined, coordinated color palette. This is a good reminder that if you really love a room, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel in other rooms!
