Most of you probably know by now that I adore House & Home–a design magazine out of Canada. If you live in the US, the subscription rate is a little higher than say House Beautiful, but it is SO worth it. Every month, I’m calling my mum in Canada to tell her of some store she needs to visit or a house she just has to see…I like getting my little piece of Canada every four weeks. I find something I love in every issue; something that inspires me in my own home so I highly rec getting a subscription for yourself! In the February issue, I fell in love with H&H editor Sally Armstrong’s featured (cover) renovation.
What a statement the entry makes with that gorgeous floor
As of course there’s an equally impressive mudroom–Armstrong chose different custom patterned baskets for each person in the family
A cozy family room is warm and inviting. Like the whole house, this room is eclectic, fresh and casual.
My parents used to have two of the chairs shown in the picture above–think they sold them for 20 bucks at a garage sale in the mid 80s…bummer!
I love how the whole house is a bright, clean palette with vibrant pops of color–reflected in the dining room and kitchen
A sliding barn door closes off the kitchen as needed. The sheepskin covers on the stools look great, but likely there more for the styling of the room than the practicality of a kitchen! Seriously, have you tried cleaning those things??
This house makes me want to paint all my walls white and change out my furniture. I just love how family-friendly it is with simple, casual design. Tomorrow, I’m going to post a design board with some ideas on how to get the same look in your house! And, if you’re interested in seeing more of Armstrong’s home, H&H has a a video tour available on their site.
So glad to read how much you enjoyed Sally’s reno story! Have you seen the video tour? http://houseandhome.com/tv/segment/sally-armstrongs-main-floor-reno

I love that magazine! The digital subscription is quite affordable if you don’t want to pay for the international shipping.
I loved those floor tiles in her entryway!
