Cane Bed

I’ve always loved this headboard and bedding for a boy’s room.

The only problem is the headboard, duvet, pillows and sheets would set me back 1200.00!  Granted, I do think Serena and Lily bedding is some of the softest well made bedding around, but I just can’t justify the cost for a kid’s room.  I decided to create the same look and as a bonus it will only set you back $233.00 and that includes the headboard!

1.  The biggest difference in my design vs Serena and Lily’s is the cost of the headboard.  I found this Rattan Headboard at Urban Outfitters and it’s on sale for 99.00! But don’t just think of this headboard for a kid’s room, it would be great a guest room, too. The only bummer is it only comes in a full/queen size.

2.  The Striped Duvet Cover and Sham Set is from West Elm and for a full/queen size and two pillow shams it was only $85.00.  A twin duvet will only set you back 47.00.  Such a steal and great for a boy’s room.

3.  While this Jumping Beans Rocket Sheet Set isn’t exactly what Serena and Lily features.  I think it’s so cute and would be great with such a bold striped duvet.  It’s also a little more child-friendly and at only $30.00 again, it’s priced right.

4.  I couldn’t help but add this adorable Robot pillow from Land of Nod to brighten up the bedding and make it child-friendly.

Don’t be discouraged by a high-end look in a magazine.  I guarantee with a little time searching the internet, you can re-create the look for much cheaper.
