All Things Red & Pink

Happy Valentine’s Day to those of you that celebrate this day! Even if you don’t buy into the ‘Hallmark’ holiday you have to admit that most people are in a better mood on Valentine’s Day!  I have to say I loved celebrating this day with my students back when I was teaching and I continue to look forward to celebrating the day with my own kids.  There’s nothing better than watching the kids come home from school and rip open their bag of Valentines they’ve received from their classmates.  Who knew a little piece of paper with a treat could get someone so excited?  And, don’t worry the Mr and I celebrate too but we’re just a little more low key.

In honor of today, here are a few of my favorite rooms showcasing some pops of red and pink.

I adore this room.  The ottoman is beautiful next to that couch.  It balances the whole room and makes it feel grown up.

The pops of pink in this room are so unexpected in an otherwise formal living room.  I love how they’ve carried pink to the other side of the room through the the use of pillows.

room 3

Love this added touch of a playful color in an otherwise neutral room.  What a great example of what a little color can do to a room.

I love this bedding and bed from Land of Nod.  Great example of how pink and red can live in harmony together.

The pink pillows on the sofa are gorgeous!  I want to see more shots of this room!

I LOVE the drapes in this room.  I’m usually too scared to use blue and red in the same room for fear it will look too patriotic but this is a perfect balance and a great example of a mix of pattern.

I’ve shared this photo before but it is still one of my all time favorite bedrooms.  Pink and orange at it’s best.

Giddy over this room!  The leopard print ottomans are perfect for this room and add a touch of fun.  It would have been so easy for the designer to continue with blue throughout the room, instead the pop of red is introduced and works great.

Who would have thought to add drapes to a bathroom, but I love these red drapes on the soft, pink walls.,

Something so soothing about this room even though the chairs are covered in a pink, bold fabric.  The neutral rug allows for bold, graphic  chairs.

really

I have to admit, black and red reminds me of my high school prom decorations, but this is a classy example of it done right.

And lastly, I’ve shared this photo again but it’s probably one of my favorite photos of all time (second to the orange and pink bedroom).  What’s not to love….red dutch door, chai dragon print chair, built ins.  I’ve always wanted to see more of this house.  Does anyone know where this photo came from and if there are more photos of this house in cyber world?

Enjoy today and even if you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, it’s a great day to ‘pay it forward’ by doing a random act of kindness for someone.
