We are starting to work on a living room design for a client. It’s a beautiful room with lots of gorgeous wood trim, a fireplace and built-ins. It’s also a long, narrow room that will include seating on one end and a game table/ bar area at the other end. We’ve been thinking about how to arrange this room and also how to make it look and feel spacious. One of our favorites ways to do this is to use a ghost coffee table in the middle of the room. This allows the room to still have table space but keeps it from looking too heavy. Here are some of my favorite rooms showcasing a ghost coffee table:
Ghost or acrylic tables come in a wide variety of styles and price tags. I love the details on this table.
If you love the look of this table, I found one almost identical if not the exact one at Wisteria.
A ghost coffee table gives the illusion of more space versus a wooden or upholstered piece that would appear to be much ‘heavier’ in a room. This simple waterfall style is a classic and takes up minimal floor space.
The waterfall ghost table goes with any decor and it’s the perfect mix even in a traditional living room.
And, it looks sooooo good when placed on top of a thick, wool rug! Let’s also discuss that fabulous gallery wall and sconces above the couch….LOVE!
CB2 has a great version of the waterfall table and it’s priced right at 279.00!
Or a ghost table with storage in the legs can house magazines or books.
I found this one on Amazon for 139.00!
Is there a spot in your house for a ghost table?
I’ve heard they scratch easily, & you can’t clean with windex/paper towel. But we’ve had the CB2 ghost table in our basement for 3 months and so far no marks!
Do they scratch easily? As with many furniture items, is there a major question of quality to consider?
I have always loved the look of these! Do you know how they wear? Can the tolerate the roughness of little boys?
