Sunshine and Countertop

I’m off to L.A. for the long weekend with no kids and no husband, but instead traveling with my dear, Grandma. We are headed to my cousin’s wedding and I’m looking forward to some sunshine and relaxing by the pool kid-free. I’m not sure the last time that happened to me!

Between thinking about sunshine and getting ready for my trip, I also pulled the trigger (finally!) and ordered new countertop.  I went for white macaubas quartzite and here she is in all her beauty!

I’m in love with it, but now I have to make another decision on what color to paint the cabinets. I originally wanted white, but now I’m thinking a soft gray or maybe the upper cabinets (the few I have) white and the island a dark gray. Here are some inspiration shots I’ve been pinning to help me decide on the color.

Love this kitchen and check out those gorgeous barstools!  They look very similar (if not exact) to these at Restoration Hardware. AND, they’re on sale now. Bringing a little dark wood into my kitchen I think would look great with the white countertop, (possibly)gray cabinets and existing white subway tile backsplash.

Love these library lights (I know you know we’re obsessed.)  I wouldn’t want this washed look of gray but I like the depth of this color.

This is my all time favorite kitchen.  I do love the look of the bottom cabinets a dark gray and keeping things on top lighter.  The brass hardware is also gorgeous on the gray cabinets.  This photo inspired me to change out my own hardware.

Anyone have a good experience picking the perfect gray for your own kitchen cabinets?  Enjoy your long weekend!
